WHAT: This is a small group morning tasting tour with stops at a wide variety of food specialty shops. We focus on local comfort foods, so basically foods that the locals eat! What to expect?

Freshly made tempura at a tiny shop run by a mom and son.
Tsukemono (pickles) at a super little shop specializing in fermented foods. How is YOUR gut health?
Sushi at a 4th generation Kyoto-style sushi shop. Do you know what the diffierent styles of sushi are?

Matcha at a local family run tea shop. Do you know how to make matcha the traditional way?
Ramen at my favorite ramen shop in the neighborhood. It’s in my opinion, one of the prettiest bowls of ramen around. And tastes great too!
Kyoto-style egg omelet at a freshwater fish shop. Did you know that in Kyoto there are two different kinds of fish shops???

Yokan (a sweet) at a charming and very old confectionery. Learn why it’s possible to indulge in eating Japanese sweets and not feel guilty about it!
