WHAT: This is a small group tasting workshop at a local shop. We will try to taste up to 3 different kinds of matcha, including okoicha, the thick version of matcha enjoyed in a formal tea ceremony! Chawan, natsume, chashaku, chasen. We will talk about these important matcha terms and more. Hopefully, we will get you started in the right direction on your matcha journey!
WHO: Suitable for anyone looking to have fun learning about, making and tasting Japanese matcha. Children are welcome to join with parents. Please ask for more details.

WHERE: This tasting workshop takes place in the Fushimi neighborhood of Kyoto. Just a short train ride away from the center of Kyoto City.
HOW MUCH: 7,000 Japanese Yen / Person (please pay in Japanese Yen cash on the day of the tour)
MEETING SPOT: North exit of Chushojima Station on the Keihan Train Line. Please walk down the hill to the right about 2 – 3 minutes. You will find the Okobu Kitase shop on your right. There will be a sign for JD Kyoto outside. You can’t miss it!
