WHAT: This is a small group tasting workshop at a local saké shop. We will try to taste up to 8 different kinds of saké! Sakamai, junmaishu, seimaibuai, murokanamagenshu. We will talk about these important saké terms and more. Hopefully by the end, you will be able to get some information from a label!
WHO: Suitable for anyone 20 years of age or older (legal drinking age in Japan) and looking to have fun learning about and tasting Japanese saké. Children are welcome to join with parents. Please ask for more details.
WHEN: Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays
5:00 – 6:30 pm (Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays)
2:00 – 3:30 (Saturdays)
WHERE: This tasting workshop takes place in the Fushimi neighborhood of Kyoto. Just a short train ride away from the center of Kyoto City.
HOW MUCH: 7,000 Japanese Yen / Person (please pay in Japanese Yen cash on the day of the tour)
MEETING SPOT: North exit of Chushojima Station on the Keihan Train Line. Please walk down the hill to the right about 2 – 3 minutes. You will find the Aratama saké shop on your left. There will be a sign for JD Kyoto outside. You can’t miss it!
